if any of you, random or affectionate readers has any idea, or better, experience on how to connect a couple of Beyerdynamic electret mics MCE 5 (specifically the MCE 5.16 with Lemo plug) to a Minidisc recorder in a quick and dirty hack way please let me know. I saw they’ve a thing called MES16 but the idea of having a couple of them with bulky XLR out to feed into a tiny portable MD is not so elegant, not to mention it’s way too expensive.

i use to keep updated my cd playlist with win 98 (you know when you listen to cd with cd player and edit the entries), at least with cddb you can avoid this chore by downloading from the web for official cd releases, nevertheless for custom cds or live recordings you’ve to do on your own, all this work is saved into the file cdplayer.ini in your win directory. Now keeping in sync this stuff with my laptop where i’ve win 2000 that uses another system ( all entries are in an access db called deluxecd.mdb ) would have been a mess if not for this nice freeware tool : PLC converter that convert from many different format and saved me the effort of re-entering something like 150 cds…
